Protecting Your Family Against Home Invasion

Home invasions are increasing; it has been reported that in the U.S. one property related crime occurs every three seconds. Between 1994 and 2005 there were over 3,600,000 each year during this time period. These are staggering reports but there are steps you and I can take to prevent a home invasion such as purchasing one of the best home automation systems available.

An effective home security system is one that has monitoring services that include a two-way intercom so that communication can be made at any time. The most effective monitoring services include 24 hour monitoring, interactive monitoring, home automation and internet and cell monitoring. Security devices with such as system should include and give protection against fires and floods. Security devices should also include: intercoms, smoke detectors, motion detectors, and cameras.

There should also be help and support options such as online tutorials, an equipment warranty, excellent customer support and various surveillance devices. It is important to note that there are some new products on the market that can prevent a home invasion such as new gates and door locks. These products make it very hard for a burglar to enter your home.

In addition, there are things you and I can do to prevent a home invasion such as keeping our doors and windows locked at all times. Statistics show that half of home invasions occur by someone entering through an unlocked window or door. Deadbolt locks should be secured on outside doors and windows. Some also suggest buying high security locks. They are difficult to pick and are usually resistant to drills.

In addition, good lighting inside and out will deter a person from entering your home. Make sure that there is adequate lighting around your door, windows and other points of entry to your home.

By ensuring that your home has the security it needs from burglars or home invaders, you will have peace of mind knowing that you and your family are safe from intruders.
